Kindergarten started the year reading the book Harold & The Purple Crayon and have been talking all about lines and colors. We dove right into our first painting project a few weeks ago, which will end up being the Kids Kreations project for them! So, parents, you can be on the look out in Spring for the fundraiser packet and you’ll be able to order different products with your child’s artwork on it. Here is a link to all the artwork LBES does with KidsKreations (past and present).
Students looked at artwork by Piet Mondrian and discussed horizonal lines, vertical lines, and primary colors. They glued 4 lines on and then we painted one section with each of the primary colors. They did a great job using good glue control (THAT.IS.HARD. for kindergartners!!), brush control, and following directions! Here are their sweet little masterpieces:
Currently they’re working on artwork influenced by Joan Miro! Stay tuned!
