2nd grade – Paul Goble Artwork

Second graders read the book “The Girl Who Loved Wild Horses” by Paul Goble. We noticed that in his book, we never got to see the full face of the people in the story. An interesting discussion began, of why this may be…

Then students used chalk pastels to do the background, and the next week we started on the people. I gave them some handouts on designs in the blankets the Native Americans wore, then they started coloring them in. It took about 2 weeks to finish coloring in their blankets.

Here is their awesome art:

I’m so behind on so many projects, I’ll come back and enter the objects and concepts another time. Just want to show off their beautiful masterpieces now!

Enjoy!
