1st Grade Dots and Not-A-Dots!

We read the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds and talked about how everyone is an amazing artist on their own, and anyone is capable of making beautiful artwork. It’s such an inspiring book, I love it! And if you look on Pinterest there are so many amazing ways you can celebrate this book in the art room! I have been totally loving water color paint recently, and I think the kids enjoy it a lot too. So I gave first graders a white piece of paper, a circle tracer to trace a decent size circle, and then they had to decide if they were going to be making a DOT or a NOT-A-DOT. 🙂 Here are some of the beauties:

It was a very simple and fun one-day project. 🙂 I think they enjoyed it! I love how colorful and different they all are. 🙂
